Yakima!

The boys and I spent the last week or so in Yakima while Ross enjoyed a break and finished up this semester's class. I am still feeling accomplished at successfully making it there and back by myself with the boys- it was my longest car trip by myself with kids.
We were able to celebrate my mom twice-- both for Mother's day and her birthday. Here are some highlights from our trip.

A visit to Captain Ted at the fire station- David was silent almost the whole time, but as soon as we walked in the door at my parents' house he ran to my mom and told her all about EVERYTHING we did there- driving truck "all by myself" , Great Uncle Ted "fall down BIG pole" and of course, showing her his and Garrett's cool new "engine man" hats!

David was a little scared of Ted all decked out in his gear, but Garrett was quite fascinated!

Real Rain!

Pretty sunset
Swinging to sleep

Chilling with Uncle Daniel
Reading and rocking brothers
Quick sink bath before loading up to head home

We made it all the way to downtown before stopping and were just in time to meet Erin and play at the waterfront park in the sunshine before finishing the trip.

David always loves playing with the cats, but the last few days he really started connecting with Kip. He started off by picking him dandelions and pushing them through the fence and worked up to going down in the front yard and giving him treats with my mom yesterday morning :D

Garrett was SO pleased with himself for capturing the pillow I put next to him to keep him safe in case he should decide to roll over.
